EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE HIGH HOLY DAYS AT KOL AMI KC

At Congregation Kol Ami, we are committed to being a welcoming and inclusive Jewish community. This is particularly true during our High Holy Days, when we embrace everyone who needs a place to observe Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. We have never required tickets to pray or requested reservations.

During this COVID-19 pandemic, we have remained committed to being, above all, that same inviting community. As the pandemic has required greater isolation and less contact, we have found ways to stay connected in community. We have worked to make worship, prayer and study via Zoom and livestream meaningful experiences.

We hope you’ll join us from your homes. Our musicians look forward to this year’s Days of Awe services, with music performed in both Hebrew and English — more upbeat melodies of our prayers along with the beloved, traditional music that defines the High Holy Days for us all. On Zoom, the rabbi’s Yom Kippur afternoon study session will be followed by Kol Ami’s meditation service, focusing on restorative rest and the promise of the New Year, 5781.

Following is the schedule for all of our services and study opportunities for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. It includes instructions on how to connect, whether for livestream services or for Zoom sessions.

From all of us at Congregation Kol Ami, we wish you and yours a good and sweet year, this year of 5781

BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE FOR YIZKOR

It is customary to remember those we mourn during the Yizkor service. This year, during Yom Kippur’s livestream Yizkor, we will read the names of members’ loved ones. For those joining us who are not members, your loved ones’ names will be projected on a slide. Both members and nonmembers: please provide the information below to Yahrzeit@kolamikc.org by September 16, so that your loved ones can be remembered during this solemn and meaningful service.

  1. Name of person(s) being remembered.
  2. Yahrzeit date for each person.
  3. Name and relationship of the mourner(s).
