Shabbat Evening Service with Guest Speaker Dan Krull
    Friday, Jul 31st 6:45p to 8:15p
Our Shabbat Speaker Series continues this coming Friday night with Dan Krull (biography below), and an update on the Manheim Community Garden. While we had hoped to be in the garden this Friday night, feedback from many congregants, plus the recent spike in COVID-19 cases, has dictated that we have our service and speaker via Zoom. Stay tuned, as we will gather back in the garden just as soon as it is deemed safe to do so. Dan Krull consults around the country. He works for Cultivate KC and is principally involved in establishing its Westport Commons Farm, at 39th Street and Warwick. He’s integrally involved in Manheim Garden — he designed and constructed the food forest, and is largely responsible for the tremendous improvement in Manheim's soil quality. His latest project is establishing a water garden on Manheim's frontage along Forest Ave. Zoom Link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81423149708

The Song of Songs: A Kol Ami Book Club selection
    Tuesday, Jul 21st 6:30p to 8:00p
"Oh, give me of the kisses of your mouth, for your love is more delightful than wine." So opens one English translation of a titillating part of the Jewish Bible, Shir ha-Shirim, The Song of Songs, on its face a love poem, but deeper down maybe, the rabbis argue, a story of the Jews' love of God. Given that romance always springs eternal AND we are called to love God in the Sh'ma AND we haven't done a poem in a while, let's dig into this. Choose your favorite translation (or the original Hebrew!) and bring it to discuss with your Kol Ami Book Club buddies! Zoom Link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/95434070927
