Rabbi's Week in Review
By the time you read this, I will be in a very different Jewish community and a very Jewish, Jewish community — the Abayudaya Jews in Uganda. I look forward to the stories of their approach to ritual, music and perseverance over a century of existence, at times under extreme threat.
This Week's Torah Portion Parashat Vayeira (Bereishit/Genesis 18:1-22:24)
We read about Avraham’s moral leadership, negotiating with G-d to save Sodom and Gomorrah from destruction based on as few as 10 righteous people. Notwithstanding this time of acrimony and division, I do believe that righteousness and righteous people do exist and give us hope. Let us do our own search for the righteous people in our world, and work for the just world they exemplify.

Mitzvah Moment: Meal Train By Julia Patterson
Recently, we put the word out that a few of our members could use support after experiencing health issues. Within two hours of the Meal Train email going out, every meal was booked except one. What a joy to see our members supporting one another in a time of need.
Have a Mitzvah Moment you’d like to share? Please email it to Julia at engagement@kolamikc.org.
