Rabbi's Week In Review - 12/28/2020

Dec28

Last Sunday at our December Family Experience, our co-leaders, Erica Clinton and Cheryl Gates, presented a program in which we learned the importance of action. We learn our Torah values in order to act, and to act for the good.

As a project, our kids and their families wanted to show their concern for our Kol Ami family, for our congregants who are struggling amidst the pandemic. We are all feeling a sense of isolation and uncertainty about the future. Our kids and families have been busy making videos to let everyone know they care and they are not alone.

Let us all learn from their wonderful example. Let us renew our commitment to be there for one another, to reach out to those who may feel particularly isolated.

At this time, I want to make sure everyone knows that I will always make myself available to meet. Just send me an email (rabbidoug@kolamikc.org), and I can get us set up for a Zoom meeting, or a phone conversation if that works better for you. Although I try and connect with everyone, I am not always successful. If you know of someone in particular who may be feeling isolated or is struggling, please let me know.

I am also urging everyone to do your best to stay in contact with each other. When individuals within our community struggle, we must struggle as a community to keep our community together. We need to redouble our efforts. Now more than ever, we are all in need of our community and spiritual home.
