Rabbi's Week in Review
As I write this, we are one week away from elections. I have and will continue to express my concerns regarding the outcome of the election. In that regard, a reflection or two.
As I have stated on numerous occasions, and will continue to remind everyone, no one is required to agree with me to be part of the Kol Ami community. I have to confess to my own sense of fear as to possible outcomes of the election.
This Week's Torah Portion Parashat Noah (Bereishit/Genesis 6:9-11:32)
Our exegetes, our Torah commentators, discuss and disagree as to whether Noah was a righteous person compared to anyone in any era or was only a righteous person compared to others during the time in which he lived. Maybe another way of asking the question is, during a time in which righteousness seems more out of reach, do we lower our standards for living lives of righteousness at our peril.

Eleven Kol Ami volunteers went to Lexington, Mo., Monday, October 21, to help with the Migrant Farmworkers Assistance Fund service night. In the photo above, many hand out homemade cookies in the parking lot, while several inside make food bags for MFAF’s next food delivery in November.
The Lafayette County Health Department gave out 56 vaccinations in the course of the evening. Here, two women and their children get their COVID and flu shots.
